Formulation for WebApps

This page provides access to a variety of downloadable papers that
address formulation and planning for Web engineering issues.
Analysis and Testing of Web Applications [PDF] *FEE*
Fllippo Ricca and Paolo Tonella
This paper proposes a UML model of Web applications that can define white box
testing criteria and to semi-automatically generate the associated test cases. This
was then applied to several real world Web applications.
A Narrative Approach to User Requirements for Web Design [PDF] *FEE*
Stefana Broadbent and Francesco Cara
This article describes a new requirements format called Life Stories that has
been developed to satisfy the constraints of high quality and short time frames.
This format consists of an original combination of approaches and does not introduce
a new technique.
Capacity Planning - An Essential Activity [PDF]
Rajib Das
Most of the IT projects fail because the non-functional requirements were not
captured properly or are not captured at all. This paper discusses a few of the
Capacity Planning process and tips for any E-Commerce Site development.
Reflections on the Requirements Gathering in an One-Stop Government Project [PDF]
Johanna Krenner
This paper reports on the requirements analysis for one-stop government. It is
focused on the work that was done in the analysis phase of the eGOV project - an EU
project with the goal to develop an integrated platform for realizing online
one-stop government - which is presented as a case study. Different types and
sources of requirements are described. Furthermore the user-survey for the eGOV
project is dealt. The paper concludes with some of the insights gained from the
requirements analysis.
The Scent of a Site: A System for Analyzing and Predicting Information Scent, Usage, and Usability of a Web Site [PDF]
Ed H. Chi, Peter Pirolli and James Pitkow
This paper presents an architecture and system for the analysis and prediction
of user behavior and Web site usability. The system integrates research on human
information foraging theory, a reference model of information visualization and Web
data-mining techniques. The system also incorporates new methods of Web site
visualization (Dome Tree, Usage Based Layouts), a new predictive modeling technique
for Web site use (Web User Flow by Information Scent, WUFIS), and new Web usability
metrics.
